This Rwanda coffee is a beautiful example of direct trade and a really important part of Outpost’s catalogue. Good Human, a social enterprise committed to contributing more than just economic benefit to coffee producers, and the Aegis trust, an NGO which campaigns to prevent genocide worldwide, are working with a handful of Rwandan coffee producers to increase quality in order to help them earn more for their crop and this coffee is produced with that support.

This coffee is blue bourbon, quite an uncommon variety and consequently quite differently complex to many coffees you might have tried. When we cupped it we found a really vibrant underripe raspberry character, you might also find notes of caramel, sweet cherry and cocoa. It is roasted for filter brewing methods and at the Depot we’re enjoying this on batch brew.
